Listers Ensures Sales Growth

The recent acquisition of new production premises in Stoke on Trent by Lister Trade Frames shows the company's commitment to becoming a major player in the region, and now it is speeding up the process by expanding its external sales force.

Mike Bacanin has joined Lister's team as Business Development Manager for the Central Region. Mike has spent 33 years in the window industry and the last 18 years in a similar role with a trade and retail window manufacturer. Mike's track record in gaining and supporting trade installers will be a valuable asset to Listers as it continues to grow and fill its new capacity.

Carl F Expands Internal Sales Team

Carl F Petersen, the window and door hardware supplier, has strengthened its internal sales team.

The promotion of Caroline Holloway to a supervisory position and recruitment of Vicky Lindsay as internal sales co-ordinator to fill Caroline’s role brings the total in-house sales department to eight people.

Commenting, Sales Office Manager for Carl F Petersen, Avril Reid, who has overseen the growth of the function, said:

'Carl F’s focus on customer service has been a primary reason for the company’s success in recent years. One of the key factors supporting this commitment has been the role of the internal sales team: instead of being an order processing
department, the people in the sales office have assumed much of the responsibility of working with the existing customer base to retain and develop the business.

'We now have an internal sales person linked with each member of the external sales team with Caroline supervising the effort to ensure that each customer receives the very best service at all
times. The strengthened department will also help us to achieve the Key Performance Indicators set out for the sales team.’

RegaLead Covers North & South

RegaLead has restructured its technical sales team with Graham Truffet as sales representative for the North of England, and Ian Duckworth covering the South.

Graham will be dealing with RegaLead’s existing customers and developing new business. He was previously with IFI, with responsibility for sales and product development in adhesives and sealants for the glass and glazing industry, and has extensive management and commercial experience.

Ian has returned to RegaLead after a five-year break selling IG components. He had previously spent three years with the company in a similar role to the one he has now, but covering the North of England. He has a background in the decorative glass business, having worked for an SGO studio and Regency Glass in Leigh.

New Sales Team at Vetrotech Saint-Gobain

Following a period of sustained sales success in the UK and Ireland, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of fire resistant glass has made significant changes to its management and sales team. Vetrotech Saint-Gobain, which supplies to over 40 countries globally, has appointed Sue Hargreaves as its new UK and Ireland General Manager.

Sue, who was previously the firm’s Sales and Marketing Manager, now assumes full management responsibility for the firm’s UK performance.

Matt Davies, who was Sales Co-Ordinator with Vetrotech, has been promoted to field Sales with responsibility for the North of England, Ireland and Scotland.
The third new appointment is Paul Tooley, who has enjoyed a long career in the industry, particularly with Vetrotech’s sister company, Solaglas, and who has been appointed as Sales Manager for the South of England and Wales.

'Our sales record over the past three years shows increased demand for our specialist glass range, which is second to none in price and performance. New Appointment at Deceuninck

Deceuninck has strengthened its commercial sales team with the appointment of Jon Scarle as southern Specification Manager.

Having worked directly within the fenestration industry for 11 years, coupled with an overall 26 years experience within the specification arena, Jon brings with him a wealth of valuable experience and in-depth knowledge of the commercial PVCu market.

As Specification Manager, Jon will be responsible for developing sales opportunities for the full Deceuninck range of profiles and associated building products within the commercial, housing association and local authority sectors.

Saint-Gobain Corporation names Sweeney Vice President and Treasurer

John Sweeney has been named Vice President and Treasurer by Saint-Gobain Corporation. He was previously the company's Vice President of Pension and Benefits Investments.

In his new position, John will be responsible for leading Saint-Gobain Corporation's treasury function, which includes cash and debt management. He will also work closely with Saint-Gobain's treasury organisation in Paris. John will continue to be responsible for the company's pension trust management and various administrative activities dealing with pension benefits, deferred compensation plans and 401K savings plans.

In 1982, John joined CertainTeed Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, as a senior internal auditor, and since then has held various management positions, including assistant treasurer, in the company's finance organisation.

John has a B.S. in accounting from West Chester University, as well as an M.B.A. in Finance from Drexel University. He is a resident of Horsham, Pennsylvania. John is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Mushtaq Gets Top Sales Post

High Wycombe businessman Mushtaq Zaman has been appointed Sales and marketing Director of home improvement company Supreme-O-Glaze.

Father of three Mushtaq, lives in the town but will be based at Supreme-O-Glaze headquarters in Romford.

His new post, in charge of over 200 sales and administrative staff, gives him responsibility for the whole of Essex and Kent.

'I'm looking forward to the challenge' said 34-year-old Mushtaq who has been in the home improvement industry for over 11 years.

Formerly Regional Manager and then Southern Sales Director for Weatherseal Ltd, Mushtaq is working closely with Supreme-O-Glaze director Martino Basile overseeing the company's expansion plans in the South of England.

The company turnover is expected to reach £20 million in the next year or so. Supreme-O-Glaze is a leading manufacturer and installer of windows, conservatories and doors in the South.

'We have a strong and loyal customer base in the South' said Mushtaq.

'We pride ourselves on local service, best value and an efficient and friendly workforce.

New Sales Manager Appointed at Portal

UK door panel and composite door manufacturer, Portal Products, has appointed Steve Hindley as Sales Manager for the North and Scotland with responsibility for new and existing customers in those areas.

Steve brings extensive fabrication and sales experience from the window systems industry to his new role within the door manufacturing sector. A keen hill-walker, he lives in Doncaster.

New Customer Development Manager at Quantal

Quantal Conservatory Roofing Systems has appointed David St John as Customer Development Manager.

With 25 years industry experience to bring to his new role, David will be providing customers with technical assistance and business support.

David says, ‘I have been involved in almost every aspect of the industry, and am looking forward to using my knowledge to help Quantal's customers to grow their businesses.’

Dave Delivers Extra Power for Network Veka

Network Veka has further boosted its service to members with the appointment of Dave Hartley as Marketing Services Manager.

Dave, who joins from Veka plc, will be responsible for helping members to develop their business and keeping them up to speed with everything that Network Veka can do for them. He will also join MD John Ogilvie and Quality Auditors Harry Charnock and Peter Ward in introducing the Network Veka philosophy to prospective new members.

David Bown joins Finesse

Swish fabricator and installer Finesse Windows & Conservatories of Kings Norton has recently added David Bown to its management team. As Sales and Marketing Director David will be responsible for further developing the domestic sales and commercial divisions for all window, door, conservatory and roofline products.

David brings with him a wealth of experience gained within industry and the PVCu market. A Dunlop Aviation trained engineer and Marketing Executive with Alfred Herbert Machine Tools, David moved into the windows fabrication industry in 1980, he was for eight years Sales & Marketing Director with Bowater Windows and has spent the last six years with ITIS Holdings Plc as Sales Director in their telematics Division.

Garry Hall Tackles the South West for Sierra Windows

Sierra Windows has appointed Garry Hall as Area Sales Manager for South West England.

Garry, who has 15 years' experience in the window industry, explains, ‘My background includes working for an installation company for many years. I hope to bring a good understanding of our customers' needs to my new role, because I used to be in the same position.’

Garry is a keen rugby player, and also breeds and shows working gun dogs, attaining a 3rd in class at Crufts for one of his Chesapeake Bay retrievers.

K2 Architectural Systems Appoints Technical Sales Executive

K2, the conservatory roofing specialist, has promoted Tim O’Brien to the newly created position of Technical Sales Executive for its recently launched division, K2 architectural systems.

A key part of Tim’s remit will be to develop sales opportunities amongst commercial audiences. This will involve working in close partnership with K2’s growing customer base, including architects, specifiers and contractors.

Tim has over 20 years experience in the conservatory market, and previously worked as Vice President of Operations for K2 USA, where his responsibilities included supervising a number of large scale installations, from restaurant extensions to swimming pool enclosures. Consequently, he has a wealth of expertise in the commercial installation market, and is looking forward to helping K2 develop its architectural systems brand with a view to increasing market share.

Tim comments, ‘I am delighted that this role has been created, and am excited about the challenges this opportunity presents to me. Having worked for K2 for some time, I am well aware of the company’s innovative approach to new product development and its undoubted potential for expansion. New People Bring Advantages to Advantage

Katie Herring has joined Cheshire based Rehau fabricator Advantage Windows Doors and Conservatories Ltd as Marketing Manager.

She has accumulated over five years experience in the window industry having previously worked for a major PVCu systems company and also within an associated ancillaries and hardware distributor.

Katie holds a degree in business management from Manchester Metropolitan University and will be working closely with Group Commercial Director
Danny Hague.

She said ‘I am looking forward to helping the company to realise its full potential as one of the country’s major manufacturers of windows, conservatories and roofs. My role as marketing manager will be vital in strengthening our customer support and exploring new opportunities for growth.’

Katie is an avid Manchester City fan and season ticket holder.

Clive Ellis, meanwhile, has joined Advantage as Area Sales Manager. He will report to National Sales Manager Matthew Judge and will be responsible for the development of sales of both roofs and frames in the midlands and southwest.

He has worked in the glass and window industry for the past nine years and on his appointment said, ‘I am looking forward to the challenge of working for one of the largest and most respected fabricators in the country. I see my role as helping existing customers to grow with Advantage and in gaining new customers by offering excellent products and levels of service.’

Clive lives in Bristol and is married with three children. His hobbies include running a local youth football team and the occasional round of golf.

Duncan Maydew has joined Newstead Trade Frames as Sales Development Manager. Duncan has been working in sales all his life and brings 18 years selling experience with him to his new role.

‘I have lived in the Stoke-on-Trent area all my life,’ says Duncan, ‘so I’ve seen Newstead grow from a small company to a thriving success. Even at my first interview I knew I wanted to work here. The prospect of working for a growing company is exciting, but the opportunity to contribute to that growth is even better.
