Ultraframe Strengthens Commercial Team

Ultraframe, the conservatory systems supplier, yesterday announced two new appointments within the company’s senior commercial team.

Nick Brown joins Ultraframe on 18th October in the role of Sales Director. He was Sales and Marketing Director of Shires Bathrooms and brings substantial experience of channels and related building products having previously been National Sales Manager of Velux.

Nick replaces Peter Allen who, after 10 years with Ultraframe in the UK, moves to US subsidiary Four Seasons as Vice-President (Franchise Development) where he can gain a valuable International perspective to his experience yet remain within the Ultraframe family.

 

Linda Doughty joins the company as Marketing Director and will take responsibility for all marketing activities in the UK. She joins the company on 11th October from ICI Paints Division where she is Regional Development Director. Her role includes overseeing the development of five of the UK’s leading trade paint brands, including Dulux. She brings a wealth of marketing experience in related building product industries driven by the home improvement sector.

Vanda Murray OBE, Ultraframe UK’s Managing Director confirmed, ‘I am delighted to welcome Nick and Linda to the team. We are facing changing market conditions in the UK and they will both bring their experience of the building products sector to help us take our business forward. Nick and Linda will both be key in consolidating and expanding our market leadership position.’

Nick Brown (38) took up his first sales role with Sheffield Insulations in 1988 joining the market leader in the distribution of insulation, fire protection, dry lining and related materials. He joined Keysan Limited as Technical Sales Representative in 1991 before returning to Sheffield Insulations as Business Development Manager two years later. He helped develop the company’s product portfolio and was promoted to the position of Market Manager in 1998.

In 2000 Nick was appointed National Sales Manager for Velux Company Limited and was responsible for the development of Velux as a high-end home improvement product and assisted the company in its penetration of new sectors including new housing. Qualceram Shires plc asked Nick to join them in 2002 as Sales & Marketing Director and, since then, he has been a key member of their management team.

Linda Doughty (38) joined ICI as a Commercial Trainee in 1984 and has since held a number of senior sales and marketing roles within the company’s Paints Division. These have given her extensive knowledge of trade and consumer markets through trade outlets, specialist stores and DIY retailers. In 1992 she was appointed Product Manager for the Weathershield range and, in 1995 was given the role of Trade Marketing Manager. After a short spell as a Regional Business Manager, she became Marketing Manager of the Decorator Sector and then Brand 8 Channel Marketing Manager, overseeing the development of five of the UK’s leading trade paint brands, including Dulux.

Linda gained an International Marketing perspective as Marketing Director of ICI Paints, Canada in 2002, returning to the UK earlier this year as Regional Development Director.

Deceuninck Strengthens New Business Sales Team

Deceuninck has further strengthened its new business sales team with the appointment of Ian Miller as Business Development Manager for the South.

Having been involved within the fenestration industry for twenty one years, Ian brings with him a valuable wealth of industry knowledge and experience coupled with a refreshing attitude towards customer’s needs.

As Business Development Manager, Ian will be responsible for developing new sales opportunities for the Deceuninck range of profiles suites, including the innovative new 3000 Series.

Sales Appointment at Winlock

Increasing levels of business have seen Winlock Security, manufacturer of window and door hardware systems, appoint George Maule as area sales manager to cover the Midlands and South West territory.

George, who was previously business development advisor for Sash UK, has a wealth of experience in the window hardware marketplace having worked for leading companies such as Wagner GB, where he was regional & specifications manager.

George will be establishing new customers for Winlock’s latest products and highlighting the extensive customer service and back up available.

Ex-Chester-Le-Street Grammar School pupil George is married and lives in Swadlincote, Derbyshire.

Ken Allen Re-joins Eurocell Profiles

Derbyshire based Eurocell Profiles has appointed Ken Allen as its South-West Area Manger. Ken brings with him a wealth of experience in the PVCu market where he has worked for over twelve years. Bbefore that he spent over twenty years in civil engineering and building environments.

New Sales Manager at FendorHansen

Steve Joins the Elite

HW Plastics has recently appointed Steve Malkin as Key Account Manager to provide specialised support for its larger customers.

Recently, HW Plastics has strengthened its Marketing team through the appointment of Elaine Buck as Telemarketing Executive.

Since joining the company, Elaine has been busy promoting HW Plastics' Elite 70 system. In addition, she has worked closely with customers to complete telemarketing campaigns on their behalf, and on campaigns for other HW Plastics Products. Duraflex Boosts Commercial Team

Duraflex is strengthening support for its commercial customers with the appointment of Richard Morris as Technical Specification Engineer. Richard will provide technical support and advice to Duraflex’s growing user base in the commercial sector, including local authorities, housebuilders, architects and specifiers.

Richard’s role will cover written technical specifications for the Duraflex PVCu Diamond Suite. A qualified draughtsman, his responsibilities will include production of cross-section and elevation drawings for contracts, as well as offering advice on thermal requirements and providing structural calculations. He will also be involved in producing and updating the company’s Specification Manual in line with new product developments and relevant legislation.

Richard brings more than a quarter of a century’s technical support experience within the window industry to the Duraflex team. His training and
background will prove invaluable both to customers and the company’s commercial sales team in their bid to develop new business opportunities for the fabricator network.

‘There is great potential within the commercial sector, particularly in new build which is recognised as a high growth area for top quality PVCu systems like the Duraflex Diamond Suite. CGI Builds on Success with Key Appointment

Phillip Millward has been appointed Sales and Marketing Director of CGI International, the UK manufacturer of specialist fire glasses. He will be responsible for managing UK sales and marketing activities as well as developing worldwide market opportunities for the company’s brands – in particular the established Pyroguard range of laminated fire resistant glass.

Prior to joining CGI Phillip was Sales and Marketing Director of T&D Packaging, where he was responsible for negotiating and securing contracts with multi-national organisations such as Shell and PetrochemCarless. His experience in managing internal and external sales teams will also prove invaluable in his new position at CGI as his duties will include overseeing the company’s direct salesforce and providing support for a growing network of distributors and merchants.

In addition to developing CGI’s existing product range, Phillip will also be involved in bringing on board new lines to meet changing market needs and
satisfy new legislation, which Phillip regards as one of the key reasons for continued growth in the fire retardent glass market. He believes CGI is in a unique position to maximise future opportunities with its new purpose-built factory in Haydock.

More than 70% of CGI’s product is exported and the company also holds a substantial share of the specialist fire glass market in the UK. ‘Recently winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, International Trade, 2004, reflects the company’s current success and provides an excellent foundation for the continued development of the business,’ says Phillip. ‘Our goal now is to ensure that when someone wants a specialist type of glass they think of CGI.’
