Conservatory Outlet Releases 99 Butterfly Balloons

Conservatory Outlet, a new initiative offering ambitious and likeminded small and medium conservatory installation companies the opportunity to join a team of growth focused conservatory installation companies nationwide, sponsored an entire weekend in September on Real Radio to raise awareness for the indoor conservatory showrooms in Wakefield, Harrogate and York.

99 butterfly balloons were released - 33 from each showroom – on the Saturday morning. ‘Marketing needs to be engaging for homeowner, especially when the market is challenging.’ explains Matthew Glover, Managing Director of Conservatory Outlet. ‘Sponsoring a weekend on radio gives us the opportunity to raise awareness for the showrooms in the area and we all benefit by the increased enquiries.

‘Marketing is just one area of help Conservatory Outlet gives installers. It's designed to be a total package for installers who want to increase the number of conservatory sales. The Real Radio campaign is part of a comprehensive programme of radio and television adverts backed up by an interactive website to raise public awareness for Conservatory Outlet.’

Cutting Edge Windows Goes All Out for New Business

Profile 22 fabricator Cutting Edge Windows is reaping the rewards of a marketing and product development campaign, which kicked off at the end of last year to coincide with the expansion of its conservatory manufacturing unit. The Stoke on Trent based firm has been taking the challenges of a toughening market head on and has reported excellent results.

An open day demonstrating the increased efficiency of the new conservatory facility, regular advertising spots on local radio and now back of bus advertising, plus membership of Trade Lynks, Profile 22's customer support service, have combined to generate interest and new leads for this energetic company. 'We knew we had to get our message out there, for the chance to prove how good we are' remarks Cutting Edge MD Shirley Peake. 'With things getting harder we couldn't just sit back and wait for new business to fall in our lap'.

She continues: 'The decision to develop the conservatory business has brought in new opportunities, building on the success of our original window and door business. Regular advertising has kept a flow of enquiries coming in and the advice and practical support from Trade Lynks, like free leaflets and showroom support, has generated even more leads for us and our customers'.

Eurocell Sponsors Record-Breaking Row

Eurocell was a major sponsor of oarsman Nick Turnbull's epic recent charity fund raising row around Mull. The event marked the first ever circumnavigation of the remote Scottish island by rowing boat and Nick managed to complete it in just three days in an amazing time of 27 hours, 33 minutes, at an average speed of four knots.

Nick was raising funds for a new sports pitch in the village of Dervaig, the ancestral homeland of Eurocell Managing Director, David Leng, who comments: 'I grew up in and went to school in Dervaig so have strong links with the area. When Nick approached us for sponsorship we were delighted to be able to support this very worthy cause.'

Setting sail from Tobermory in his Eurocell-liveried 15ft boat, Nick's journey took him through the Sound of Iona and past famous Fingal's Cave. He even managed to secure an extra £70 sponsorship en route, by rowing alongside a tourist boat full of sight-seers!'

So far over £7,000 has been raised towards the pitch and providing new sports facilities for the village as a result of the row.

A Sure Bet – Everyone’s a Winner with K2

K2, the conservatory system manufacturer, recently demonstrated the strength of its commitment to its customers by treating nearly 50 key clients and partners to an all expenses paid weekend at the races. This year K2 pulled out all the stops by holding the event at one of Horse Racing’s most stylish meetings, Royal Ascot at York on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th June 2005.

The company stages similar events each year as a way of saying a very special thank you to some of the many key individuals, and their partners, who are instrumental to K2’s continuing success.

Speaking of the event, K2’s Managing Director, Sally Fielding said: ‘Our annual trip to the races is a fun way of rewarding our customers and is an event which is always looked forward to. It also helps cement personal relationships - something we as a company feel are incredibly important. Recognising this, we are keen to do something special to say thank you and to let them know just how much we value their continued support.’

The weekend proved a major hit with all involved – and in particular for Ian Moran of Advantage Windows & Conservatories Ltd. who won over £2,000 on the day. Indeed, everyone enjoyed the event, with champagne flowing throughout the day, horse racing insights provided by a professional tipster, and all in the comfort of a specially reserved K2 marquee within the race meeting’s exclusive tented village.

K2 customer, Ian Wilkinson of CRS adds: ‘We all had a great time and it shows the type of company that K2 is to stage this sort of event. We all work hard together, and it’s nice to be appreciated for all the effort that goes into the development of the business.’

Sally Fielding adds: ‘Many factors have helped shape K2 into the company it is today – a commitment to innovation, intelligently designed products, industry-leading levels of excellence, service and support. But nothing has been - or will continue to be - more important to our success than our customers.’

New DuoShield gets Promotional Support

A full range of merchandise has been created to support the launch of the new DuoShield co-extrusion process which the company says is quickly leading to the establishment of a new generation of roofline, cladding and window profiles.

Created by Celuform, DuoShield is a process that creates an extremely tough skin that wraps around the whole board, front and back. This means that thinner and lighter boards can be produced which feature rigidity and durability equal to, or in excess of, thicker, heavier profiles. In addition, the aesthetics are improved because the finish is seamless, providing a smooth finish.

The range of promotional materials includes beenie hats, leaflets and dispensers, t-shirts, mugs and product samples.

Celuform says that it was the first to manufacture PVC-ue products in the UK more than 30 years ago, with Celuka, a skinless foamed plastic technique that offered significant advantages over the rigid boards that Celuka replaced. The next development created by Celuform was a 0.6mm skin over the exposed surface of the board, a process that is now common to all cellular PVC-ue products today.

'New DuoShield will eventually be applied across all Celuform fascia, soffit, cladding and windowline products,' Ged Ferris, the company's marketing manager, commented. 'Market leading brands such as Emperor, Duoform, Duoliner and Vanquish, already feature the new technology.'

DuoShield is guaranteed for 15 years. This includes a warranty against colour fading or 'pinking'.

Veka in the Market for Piper Windows

The Veka Big Rig has been hitting the streets again, this time in Romford Market. Veka fabricator, Piper Windows has used the state of the art mobile showroom to highlight its partnering arrangement with the London Borough of Havering’s Decent Homes Scheme. The contract is worth around £3m per year to Piper over the next three to five years and involves the refurbishment of doors and windows to the Borough’s existing housing stock.

Veka’s Big Rig is a tenant consultation device for public sector refurbishment projects, providing tenants and end users with comfortable surroundings in which to view Veka’s product ranges and consult with fabricators. The 32ft long unit is the second model to be introduced by Veka, incorporating the latest multi media technology with sophisticated audio visual systems for presentations. It comes complete with display equipment and refreshment facilities and can be assembled within a short timescale. In line with current legislation, disabled access has been significantly improved for the new unit.

‘The Veka Big Rig has proved an extremely valuable marketing tool for Piper,’ comments Barry Manley of Pipers. ‘It was very well attended throughout the day not only by interested residents but also by Havering Council officials, including the Lead member for Housing, a number of Resident Liaison Officers and health and safety advisors. In addition, other local authorities visited to see the proposed systems that we are using in the Decent Homes Scheme.’ Tenants were particularly interested in the selection of Veka PVC-u doors on display, with a range of designs on offer.

The Veka Big Rig has proved immensely versatile, lending itself equally to launch events, regional fairs and local authority/ housing association tenant meetings, for which the unit may be set up in the heart of a community.

No More Borrowing from the Boys... Thanks to Edgetech!

Edgetech IG Inc recently agreed to sponsor the John Cleveland College Girls' Rugby Team. The girls, all aged between 14-18, now have their own rugby shirts, with further equipment to follow from Edgetech. ‘We don't have to borrow from the boys anymore,’ explains Becki Coombe, Interim Teacher and Rugby Coach at the college based in Hinckley, Leicestershire. ‘This sponsorship has given the girls the respect they deserve. The girls won five of the 10 games they played last season and drew two. That's playing against teams across the board, from novices like themselves to more experienced and well known - even notorious - sides.’

Andy Jones, Edgetech Sales Director and General Manager of UK and Ireland is a keen rugby fan and was delighted to offer the girls kit to call their own. ‘Forget football - this is the beautiful game, whatever sex is playing. It's also important for Edgetech to support the local community.’
