Mighton's CD is Small yet Perfectly Formed

Today's consumer is both prudent and knowledgeable. They like to 'try before they buy'. This can be a problem if you are a fabricator or installer. A few glossy photos of some windows now may not be enough. Mighton Products Ltd, sash window hardware specialist, has combated this by producing a new CD.

The CD contains a full catalogue and demonstrations of all the company’s products. This includes animated movies which help customers visualise the impact they can have. The disc which is less than eight centimetres in diameter works in any normal CD drive.

Mike Derham, Managing Director of Mighton, says: ‘The advantages of having this disc means that fabricators can use it as a demonstrator and as a sales aid. It also means that if installers are out and about and need to access technical information, they can still view our full range of products.’

The most comprehensive range of door closers to date is listed including overhead, concealed and electro magnetic solutions.

The new look marketing support pack features the complete range of publications designed to promote Ultraframe products to homeowners, plus a series of Technical Guides and step by step installation guides aimed at improving product knowledge and simplifying the specifying and building process for installers.

The consumer literature takes the form of contemporary styled magazines, packed with inspirational ideas for homeowners and photography.

She commented: 'The new consumer literature has been designed to provide Ultraframe customers with a range of marketing tools that combine practical advice and aspirational ideas for the homeowner with the style and presentation of a high quality lifestyle magazine. The result is a series of informative brochures that will really attract and appeal to today’s consumer, and therefore become invaluable sales tools for all Ultraframe suppliers and installers.'

The Ultraframe Conservatory Directory

The Ultraframe Conservatory Directory is a comprehensive presentation brochure of conservatory styles, intended to impress potential customers and help convert a sale. The 44 page Directory features inspiring images of both traditional and contemporary styled conservatories along with an ancillaries and options section to help homeowners design the conservatory of their dreams. The technical reassurance offered by Ultraframe roof systems is also outlined to ensure the homeowner’s complete peace of mind.

The new Ultraframe Conservatory Directory is available off the shelf in packs of 25, or can be easily adapted as a personalised brochure with one of four template designs. These allow Ultraframe customers to choose a colour scheme for the front cover that best suits their company’s livery and add in their logo and address details. To truly personalise the directory Ultraframe will design and produce an entirely bespoke front cover at an additional cost.

The Ultraframe Conservatory Portfolio
The Ultraframe Conservatory Portfolio is a shortform version of the directory and is suitable for use at shows and exhibitions, or for mailshots and leaflet drops. The Portfolio leaflet features eight pages of photography and CAD drawings. It demonstrates Ultraframe’s ability to offer a stylish conservatory roofing solution for every type of property, taste and budget and helps homeowners find the conservatory that best suits their needs.

The portfolio leaflet is supplied shrinkwrapped in packs of 100, with an area on the back cover for Ultraframe customers to stamp or sticker their company details.

The brand new Ultra Guide to Conservatories
The relaunched Ultra Guide to Conservatories, exclusive to Guild Approved Ultra Installers, is a glossy magazine containing everything a homeowner needs to know when planning a conservatory extension. It positions a conservatory as a lifestyle choice and guides the consumer through choosing, designing and building a new way of life.

A flyer promoting the Ultra Guide and advising homeowners on how to find a Guild Approved Ultra Installer is available to Ultra Installers free of charge and is suitable for leaflet drops or exhibitions. Members of the Guild Approved Ultra Installer Scheme also benefit from a 10% discount on all orders of Ultraframe’s standard marketing materials.

High quality product brochures

Ultraframe has a range of high quality product brochures for the homeowner which outline the individual benefits of each Ultraframe roofing system and contain inspiring photography. Leaflets cover additional options such as ceiling fans, Ultraselect, Conservaglass and Conservaflash.

Educating installers

As part of its marketing package Ultraframe also provides an extensive range of informative literature aimed at the Ultraframe system user.

As part of our superb marketing support package we have made sure our Ultraframe customers have a range of technical literature and tools to give them all the information they need to maximise business.'

Easy to follow installation guides on all Ultraframe roofing systems are supplied free with each roof order, or can be ordered in packs of 25. Further additions include Mila’s range of Fear Free and Fire Free composite doors and hardware for VS Windows available through Unique Balance.

Basic icons provide an instant guide to the most pertinent information on each product, ranging from guarantee periods and relevant accreditations to material specifications.

During production of ‘The Key’ these understandings have been combined with a new-found appreciation of environmental factors. Mila’s Marketing Manager, Kelvin ‘Green’, explains: ‘We are currently introducing an Environmental Management System and Policy that complies with BSEN 14001:2004. This has naturally made us more aware of our impact upon, and our responsibility to, the environment. When we were selecting potential printers for ‘The Key’ we considered only those that purchased paper from mills with a commitment to sustainable forests’.

‘We’ve also established that over 25,000 copies of previous editions of ‘The Key’ are in circulation, equating to some 7,000,000 individual pages. This is a substantial amount of paper and we’re asking anyone with an older version of the Key catalogue to post them back to Mila along with their company name, contact name and address. Upon receipt we will ensure that the old version of ‘The Key’ is recycled responsibly and post a new version direct to the customer’.

Added Value from Regent Windows

Since its recent successful switch to WHS Halo for profile supply, Regent Windows (South Wales) Ltd, is offering well-produced comprehensive support literature to help them to sell in the home.

The literature package includes a 'Complete Living' lifestyle magazine which promotes the full range of windows, doors and conservatories without going overboard on the 'heavy sell'. Within its format is all the information homeowners need when considering home improvements.

Commenting on the company's fresh approach, Sales and Marketing Manager Simon Apps, says: 'In a toughening market, the biggest question facing the installer is 'where is my next lead going to come from'

'We are working with our profile supplier to give our customers the support they both need and deserve in terms of generating leads, and just as importantly, converting these into valuable business. It's a mutually beneficial partnership, for by helping to develop and grow their businesses, we in turn can grow as a company.'

Regent's commitment to customer support extends to more than just marketing aids. It is also making a number of enhancements to its growing product range, including the introduction of the high security premium Trident suite with stainless steel hardware to withstand the harsher conditions of the coastal location and give years of reliable use.

The company is now a Maco-approved fabricator and Yale-approved installer and this means that in the unfortunate event of a forced entry either through a door or window, the company's guarantee covers payment of up to £1,000 on a homeowner's policy excess in the event of an insurance claim. This feature is available to all Regent's installers, giving them a significant extra selling tool.

'An added advantage of our new status is that we can pass this benefit onto our installers so they can have complete confidence in the quality and security of their products. We are confident that this will help to boost their sales in a quieter market,' continues Simon.

Steady growth in recent years has created an urgent need for more space to keep up with demand and the company is all set to move its current Haverfordwest operation to a purpose-built 8,500 sq ft factory in the autumn. The new premises at Milford Haven will more than double Regent's capacity to 450 frames per week to serve its growing customer base in the newbuild, self-build and commercial markets.

'Superior service and product quality have made us the first choice for supplying windows, doors and conservatories to customers throughout West Wales, the South West and M4 corridor and we look forward to building on this success now and in the future,' concludes Simon.

Darby’s Brochure for All Seasons

The new Roof-Glas™ high performance unit from Darby Glass now has a full-colour, user friendly brochure which clearly explains the technically advanced features that make it a new concept in conservatory roof glazing.

The double-glazed toughened safety unit keeps a conservatory cool in summer and warm in winter, and the 12-page brochure shows how this is achieved through a choice of four different glass colour formats. The clear, bronze, blue and blue+ glasses each allow varying amounts of light transmission and have different solar factors, while the glasses all have a U-value of 1.1.

The brochure explains how Roof-Glas™ deals with the fact that conservatory roof glass, like any sloped glazing, suffers from the moisture remaining on the surface longer than vertical glass. Using a proven surface treatment with a high resistance to corrosion and staining, Roof-Glas™ stays pristine for longer than untreated glass. The argon-filled units are effective against rain noise, too.

In an easy-to-read format, the brochure lays out the benefits of using Roof-Glas™, with photographs showing how it can be used, along with simple tables explaining the all-important technical specification which demonstrates the special features of the glass.

Copies of the Roof-Glas™ brochure are available from Darby Glass on 01724 280044, or by email at mailto:sales@darbyglass.co.uk.

Wendland Launches Styal-ish New Retail Marketing Support Package

Wendland Roof Solutions has produced a new series of contemporary marketing literature that reflects the increasing popularity of its Styal system amongst UK homeowners. Aimed at the consumer market and highlighting the bespoke possibilities offered by the Styal system, the new marketing materials illustrate how homeowners can ‘bring the outside in’ with a Styal conservatory, and are expected to be an invaluable sales aid to retail installers.

The new series includes an outsize A4 full colour consumer brochure, a consumer ‘mini’ brochure and an A2 poster, all with a fresh, modern appeal appropriate to the design and feel of the Styal system itself. The larger consumer brochure, in particular, uses bright, colourful photography and seductive text, suggesting the many different uses that can be made of a Styal conservatory: as a sunny breakfast room, a practical playroom, a bright working environment or a comfortable relaxation space.

‘In addition to the imaginative possibilities of the Styal system, consumers are also alerted to its practical benefits: the fact that Wendland was the first conservatory roof manufacturer to gain BBA certification, the longevity of the company and its dedication to continual research and development, the different options of glass and polycarbonate and their benefits, the choice of finishes available and the weather performance of the finished conservatory.’ says the company.

However, perhaps the most important message to consumers is that Styal offers the possibility to create whatever kind of conservatory space they want, in any bespoke design.

As the consumer brochure outlines, ‘With Styal, you get the space you want – not an off-the-shelf box’. Wendland says that the creation of the new themed literature has already resulted in a rise in the number and value of bespoke orders received by the company during the last few weeks.

To obtain copies of the new literature or find out more, contact Wendland on 0870 420 7900.
