The point we were making was amply borne out by the decision to pull the plug on a large Yorkshire based fabricator over the Christmas break, although we appreciate that company liquidations have their own inevitable timeframe and are not always deliberately engineered to happen when everyone's attention is on something else. More on this story as and when it develops further.

The fact remains that there are few, if any, affordable early warning systems to protect against this type of scenario. Any ideas anyone? Should we do something in The Gl@zine?

This week we also start our wind up to Glassex with news of Online Registration (Do it before you forget!).

We also flag up an important proposed change to Building Regs on Weatherproofing which will affect door manufacturers and installers.

Finally, how could we bring in the New Year without introducing a new Channel to The Gl@zine - Environment. Like it or loathe it, it's going to be a major influence on how European businesses are run in the early Twenty Hundreds.

I hope you enjoy this week's Gl@zine and it makes coming back to work more bearable!.
