The G 04 Awards: A Great Night Out and a Success for the Industry

GGF Conference and G04 Awards:

“This year for the first time the Glass and Glazing Federation totally changed the format of their annual conference and opened it up to all of the industry. We teamed up with the DTI and ACAS running both small business and manufacturing seminars and workshops as well as more general sessions covering glass and issues such as marketing. This gave all attendees a chance to ‘dip into’ a variety of topics that could help them in the running of their businesses. In addition in the evening we teamed up with the G04 Awards and again feedback has been extremely positive. Guests felt that as well as having a chance to ‘let their hair down’ they had the opportunity to network with representatives from all quarters of the industry. We look forward to next year’s event."

Over 600 people were entertained by comedian Jack Dee, who made some amusing comments about the industry before handing out the awards. They also enjoyed a good dinner washed down by fine wines, and were held in suspense before the winners of the ten Industry Awards were announced.

Over £3000 was raised for Gary Morton's favourite charity - Hope House - simply by leaving envelopes on all the tables. 'At an average of about £5 per head, this shows our industry at its best', says organiser Tony Higgin.
