Float Glass Industries Customer Day - a Success in One!

A big 'Thank You' to key customers and suppliers for their support and patronage over the years was the main reason behind The Float Glass Industries’ (FGI) inaugural Golf Day.

Deemed a tremendous success by all who attended, the event took place at the Marriot Worsley Park Hotel & Country Club on 18 September. Non golfers were not forgotten and participated in a range of exciting activities including Reverse-Steer 4x4 Driving and Crossbow Archery.

Golf Pro, David Screeton, hosted the after dinner prize ceremony where Atul Patel of All In One Windows was particularly congratulated for achieving the highest individual score of a fantastic 48 playing off a handicap of 15. It was a good day’s golf for Atul who was also part of the Stableford winning team which included Chris Matthews of Glass Link, Eddie O’Neil of EJ Electrical and FGI’s own Mike Thompson.

Winners of the non-golfing activities were Rob White and Neil Butler from BGGS.

FGI held an Open House the next day, inviting customers to see first hand the new Tamglass ProConvection™ toughening system up and running to schedule and new efficient factory layout, as well as the company’s recently relocated dedicated glass processing division.

'As one of the FGI golfers, which included most Offland family golfers not least Chairman, Roy Offland, and past Chairmam, Ken Offland, I can safely say we all enjoyed excellent company and great golf,' commented Joint Managing Director, David Offland. 'The day allowed us to demonstrate our appreciation to valued customers, suppliers and industry friends, many of whom have been with us for many years, indeed decades, and we look forward to continued good business relationships. The Open House event also proved very popular and presented the ideal opportunity to show customers around our newly refurbished operation.
