Forming part of a well established $6 billion consumer brands company, Therma Tru Doors is the leading manufacturer of fibreglass door systems. Through the acquisition of Sentinel Doors, the UK’s market leader within the composite door industry, Therma Tru has embarked upon aggressive business expansion plans. This will involve the enhancement of its current product range, as well as the exploitation of all technology resources, to implement new design initiatives that will maximise market share within both existing and new sectors across UK and Europe.
 

An outstanding opportunity has now arisen for a highly experienced and commercially focused Technical Director to support this rapid expansion through the delivery of a “World Class” Technical function. Reporting to and working closely with the Managing Director, you will:

• Lead all technical activities within an ISO 9002 newly formed business. Recruit, manage and motivate a team to achieve exceptional performance.

• Review strategic and operational business case cost & synergy opportunities available across the operation.

• Work closely with the Technical, R&D resources of the parent company to exploit all aspects of the technology resources and business models.

• Supply high quality technical and value engineering support across the entire manufacturing operation, shaping process improvement as well as supplying a high quality technical advisory service to the nationwide installation team.

• As part of the leadership team, act as a key influencer upon the technical development of commercial engineering and strategic business planning.

• Develop close working relationships with both existing & potential customers and suppliers alike, providing additional technical “value added” support.

   An Engineering graduate, qualified in an appropriate technical discipline, you will be a “change facilitator”, able to define ambitious technical development programmes for the future as well as accelerating design processes to reduce time to market.

Conversant with ISO 9002 and project management methodology, you will be an existing Technical Director or a highly ambitious and motivated Technical Manager who is ready to take the next step.

You will demonstrate a strong track record of technical expertise, which should have ideally been gained within the manufacture of Residential Composite Doors, the broader door/window industry or within an associated “value added” hardware manufacturer.

Able to demonstrate an awareness of sophisticated CAD and computer design tools, you will display the drive and determination to focus the technical function on a clearly defined vision to “World Class” standards.

A strong team builder and player with a high degree of self-motivation, you will encourage a “can do” culture and create an environment of continual improvement, facilitating drive, ideas and enthusiasm.
