Our Client:
Our client is the largest subsidiary of a young and acquisitive group
within the building products industry. Professionally managed, profitable,
cash generative and with a strong balance sheet, this role is crucial
to accelerating the growth rate.
Role:
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will have the full support,
through the Technical Director, of a technical team for estimating and
drawing to capitalise on the company's lead generating marketing budget.
Targeting the health and education sectors in particular, your role
will be to develop the commercial market in the Midlands for the company's
aluminium and PVCu window, door and curtain wall products. There is
a heavy bias towards the refurbishment sector which sometimes leads
to the company adopting the role of main contractor. The company and
Group already enjoy a strong reputation in education and health in other
geographic locations. Your objective will be to take a proven business
model to a largely untapped territory.
Candidate:
Key requirements are;
* A thorough understanding of the contracting business environment.
* Experience of having submitted tenders to main contractors and clients.
* Self reliance - much of the lead generation and opening up of opportunities
will rely upon the BDM's own initiatives and hard work.
* Evidence of successfully selling into the building product/materials
sector
* Formal presentation skills.
* Accomplished interpersonal skills to ensure good relationships with
a number of key people and business partners.
* Personal qualities will include ambition, good organisation skills,
energetic nature and a degree of independence.
* Ability to deal with the added pressures of working from a home base.
Remuneration:
This new role is a senior appointment which is reflected in the good
basic salary, an uncapped performance related commission, generous car
allowance and holiday entitlements and the security of belonging to
a class leading Group with the resources and skills to grow successfully.
