Chiltern International Fire is one of Europes leading
authorities on fire, providing a range of services to clients in the construction
industry. These services include consultancy, research, training and testing
to British, European and International standards.
Due to continued success, we now have the following vacancy:
Technical Auditor
£competitive + car
Home-based; covering Central England .
This
is a diverse and interesting position, suitable for a wide range of people,
for example those experienced in quality assurance, auditing, manufacturing/scientific
processes and construction.
The role has joint functions, primarily consisting of a varied auditing
duty but also involving the preparation of thermal performance simulations
of doors and windows, for which training will be provided.
The main responsibilities include:
Auditing of door, window and glass manufacturers who are certified
under BM TRADAs schemes
Production of CAD drawings for use in thermal simulations
Performing thermal simulations
In addition, you will provide support to the Business Development team
through presentations to customers, attendance at exhibitions etc. You
will also assist the Technical team in various activities regarding product
certification.
The ideal candidate will have:
Good understanding of factory processes
Excellent customer service skills
Completed an IRQA training course for ISO 9001:2000 auditing (this
course can be provided)
Basic technical drawing/IT skills
To be successful in the role it is likely that you will work well under
pressure, possess excellent time management along with logical & methodical
planning skills. You will also need good project management skills coupled
with experience in practical/technical subjects.
Experience relating to some or all of the following would also be desirable:
construction industry (doors, windows, glass), ISO 9001, product certification,
Lotus Notes, 2D AutoCAD (or similar).
The position will be home-based but the location is flexible, with extensive
travel in the UK and occasionally abroad. We are a rapidly growing company
