HW
Plastics Brings New Material to the UK
On Tuesday 11 June 2002 at Interbuild, Mike Guerin, Chairman of HW Plastics,
signed a licensing agreement with Don Garofalo CEO and Jim Humphrey,
COO of the Andersen Corporation. USA for the rights to develop, manufacture
and supply FibrexTM material to the building products market in the
UK.
FibrexTM
is a composite material made up of PVCu and wood fibre. It therefore
combines the durability and low maintenance of PVCu with the strength
and rigidity of wood. It has been extruded for many years by the Andersen
Corporation in the USA and has a proven track record in a range of applications
including: windows, doors and decking etc.
Steve Sutherland. Managing Directar of HW Plastics is delighted with
the contract: 'The agreement provides exciting possibilities in terms
of product development for HW Plastics . As the largest supplier of
PVCu and PVC-UE products to the UK building industry we see it as our
role to lead the way in the application of real innovation and the FibrexTM
material gives us the opportunity to design a dramatically different
range of products across all our markets.'
This product development process has already begun at HW Plastics' manufacturing
facility in Macclesfield and the first products to utilise the technology
will be introduced later this year.

this market, a clever box end design to ease the corner detailing of
roofline installations.
The stand personnel will introduce the concept of integrated purchasing
