Rehau Finance Director Comments on the Euro
In an article in The Financial Times last week, Derek Wood, Finance Director of Rehau UK commented on the pros and cons of this country signing up the euro. 'On a personal basis, I'd be pleased if Britain went into the euro', he said. 'It would make our business easier, particularly as we are part of a large European company with operations across the continent.'

Pilkington Sells Aerospace Division to GKN for £42m
Pilkington plc has entered into an Agreement for the sale of the whole of the issued share capital of Pilkington Aerospace Limited and Pilkington Aerospace Inc. to GKN plc at a price of £42 million. The consideration will be paid in cash. Pilkington Group Chief Executive, Stuart Chambers, said. 'This disposal is consistent with our strategy of concentrating on our core Building Products and Automotive businesses and strengthens further the Group's financial position.'

Consolidation of the European Window Market Expected in 2003
The European Window Market fell down to a level of 71,598 million window units in the year 2002, representing a net ex-works value of 16.4 billion euros. For the year 2003, a further decline in terms of quantity by –1.9% down to 70,222 million window units is expected. The market in terms of value shall decline by –2.8% reaching a level of 15.9 billion euros, according to the latest market study by the consultants of InterConnection.

Unfair Practices of Door Dealer Stopped
A door supplier has been stopped from supplying poor quality goods and fitting goods badly by a court order obtained by the OFT. Mark Talbot, owner of Surrey-based Specialist Doors, consented to the order which was granted in the High Court.

Mixed Fortunes in House Building Market

'With an established reputation and working closely with H.W. Systems, we generate leads in both sectors, i.e. supply and fit social housing and supply only unglazed new build,' said Bob Street, Commercial Manager. 'It is expected that this department will turnover £1.75 million this financial year'.
