This week's news reflects a kind of dogged maturity, very much in keeping with the rather stealthy arrival of Autumn; many of the stories are about consolidation, sowing the seeds of investment, batoning the hatches etc. Not really the kind of stuff we need for this lightning fast, 'wham bam' medium which is the Internet, and its 'Killer Application', Email.

Tony Higgin Talking of which, I was rather intrigued that the owner of a mobile phone company this week banned his employees from using email, saying that they wasted about two hours a day on it. They will now be wasting three hours a day texting each other...

Finally, an interesting snippet in the weekend paper caught my eye: apparently one of the most high profile victims of a recent international share scam linked to organised crime
(in which some 50 British investors - including the late Duke of Athol - lost about £500,000 each!) was Sir Antony Pilkington. That'll teach him to hobnob with aristocracy! And how would people with a lisp have addressed Lord Athol?

This figure is based upon the consumption of gear but it is clear that sales of TBT handles lag far behind. The only logical conclusion that can be drawn is that many TBT frames are being fitted with standard espag handles'
