Elsewhere, the spat between Pechiney and Alcan rumbles on, the former issuing a 'Consensus Forecast' as a way, presumably, of warding off the unwelcome and hostile bid by the latter. I've not come across a Consensus Forecast before and I must admit I am a trifle puzzled. No fewer than 13 analysts have been allowed to air some pretty wild guesses about Pechiney's full year figures, with the most optimistic falling well short of last year's actuals. Not sure how this helps, personally.
Deceuninck Advert

Tony Higgin Pechiney probably doesn't need to worry much anyhow, since the MMC might have something to say about the world's two largest aluminium companies becoming one....

Anyway, there's plenty for everyone as usual in this week's issue of The Gl@zine, so I hope you find a few items that float your boat.

PS We just heard that Pilkington has sold its Aerospace division to GKN for £42m. More on that next week.
