Construction
Orders in the twelve months to April 2003 rose by nine per cent compared to orders in the previous twelve months, though orders in the three months to April 2003 fell by two per cent compared to the same three months a year earlier.

At Last! Silly Season has Arrived
Phew, just when everyone seemed to be too busy to let their hair down and enjoy the summer, suddenly a mini-crop of social events, sports and golf days (no offence to golfers, but it's not really sport is it?) have taken place. At the Mila Trinity Event, we hear that the Football and Karting events produced some fierce competition, while the Golf, as usual, ruined a nice walk for a few people.

Fabricators

When he took over his father's Lancashire based fabrication company Town and Country, Mike Pearson was faced with the choice of which profile to use for windows and conservatories. From the short list of four, he quickly narrowed it down.

'Business has never been better', according to Premier Profiles' fabricator, St Neots Windows and Conservatories, which has just doubled its manufacturing plant at Eaton Socon with a new 2,500 sq. ft. unit, and opened a brand new conservatory showroom.


Health & Safety
Since April 1st this year, it has been a legal requirement that all emergency exit and panic hardware is CE Marked. Hardware distributor Wagner (GB) Ltd has confirmed that its Strand-Feb range of cross arm devices complies with this directive.

Results of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) designer initiative held during March 2003 in Scotland and the North of England revealed that many designers are unaware of their duties under Regulation 13 of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 1994 (CDM)
