What makes it more interesting is trying to decide whether the culture which has made such a sale desirable has developed through economic need, since the German economy is still on the floor, or through an outbreak of European harmony in which member states are increasingly seen as batting for the same team. Realpolitik or Idealism? Or maybe a bit of both....

Perhaps of greater relevance, is this another example of the steady consolidation in the window market as a whole? Masco is strongly rumoured still to be on the acquisition trail, not just in the UK, but in Europe in general. Meanwhile, the UK market is playing a waiting game to see who is still standing by the end of the year, after which we may see some mergers or acquisitions.

On a different note, the B2Bzine company has expanded, with the launch of a sister publication for the Kitchen, Bathroom and Bedroom market. There is naturally some crossover with the glass and window industry, so check it out here.
