Training used to be a bit stigmatised - an admission that there was a shortfall in your competence. Volunteering for training was bad enough, but to be sent on a course by your manager or board was tantamount to receiving your P45. Thankfully, that has not been the case for some time, and training has become a desirable part of working life.

It can even be fun, although I would not recommend the 'character building' walking on hot coals - it's not only fingers that get burned in business!

Glassex has this week announced its Seminar Programme, GPD has announced its Architectural Programme and its Automotive Glass Programme, An exhibition and seminar programme of off-site construction is to be held at the BRE, GTL has announced a 90 minute course in preventing back problems through safe lifting; also free health and safety training is being offered by the GGF
