A Harvest of Autumn Launches
If further evidence of the continuing buoyancy of the glass and glazing industry were needed, this was confirmed by the news from glass giant Pilkington that its market-leading self clean product Activ was now available to the public in the UK, completing its European roll-out, and that its Product Launch Partners scheme had received an enthusiastic take-up. More significant still, Pilkington is confident that the glass trade will be able to pass a premium of between 15-20% on the product all the way down the value chain.

Also this week, roof specialist Wendland unveiled a 'third generation' conservatory roof and a new name to go with it - Styal™. Previewed in the Gl@zine last week this launch is the first in a number of new initiatives from the new Latium/Wendland management team, headed by MD Chris Owen and the cash rich (following the sales of Duraflex and Genesis) Brian Kennedy. More news of this next week, in particular about some high profile new customers. In the meantime, however, click here for info on new Styal™ consumer literature or here for the Styal™ website.

Meanwhile, Glasstec is heading for a better than expected UK turn-out with business travel specialist Pressplan reporting a frantic take-up for accommodation and air tickets, that has already surpassed figures for 2000. To book your places click here. For a better idea of who is exhibiting, we have now installed a comprehensive Stand Guide.
