More from Glassex
This week we feature a number of additional new products, signings, and awards from what is becoming clear was a successful Glassex. The press release from the organiser tells us that the event was 25% bigger than the 2007 event, 40% with the addition of GP&T.

Door Stop International

Bad news for the safety glass industry, meanwhile, as Solutia (Saflex) puts up prices of its PVB interlayer material by a whopping 40%. Blaming raw material prices, this could well be echoed in other polymer based products.

Other stories this week include fabricator Ad-Hoc signing up to the Kömmerling 70 system, Glazerite buying two new lorries and Central Glass renewing with Spectus on a five year supply contract. Also, Door-Stop International has moved into its new premises. The new factory is over 100,000 square feet and there are nearly 10,000 square feet of office space.

• It is with regret that we announce this week the death of Jonathan Hill, former Managing Director of Glaverbel UK. (see People) Our sympathies are with his wife and two sons.
