Metrics and Demographics

The news this week - old news really in that it happened before Christmas - that Style Group has unloaded its trade division will for some add fuel to the argument that we are all still going to hell in a handcart.

Veka Advert

Global Doors

Elsewhere, we hear from the Builders Merchants Federation that there has been a 'slowdown' in sales of building materials, down 4.4% during the last three months of 2007, when compared with the same period in 2006. Sales were also down by 10.6% when compared with the preceding three month period, July to September 2007.

Ultraframe Advert

Bucking the trend somewhat, and showing that nothing succeeds like success (and some innovation), Synseal reports that since the launch of its latest Global composite door, an astonishing 83 new customers - who have never previously bought anything from Synseal - have become first time buyers.
