GP&T
- Do We Need it?
The news today from Glassex/GP&T that the exhibition is in rude health
and looking forward to a sell-out show is good news indeed. Less good
is the news that certain elements within the glass machinery business
are trying to knock GP&T - and have colluded not to appear at the
show.
This seems a bit of a shame. While it is perhaps true that GP&T promised more than it could ever deliver at its launch event, it did give the glass industry what it had been asking for for many years - something which 'put the Glass back into Glassex'.
GP&T was never going to work as a separate show, but now it is co-located again with Glassex, the two shows between them should present to the trade - and 'outsiders' such as architects and specifiers - all that is best about our industry. With most of the innovation, and regulatory requirements - coming from the glass industry at the moment, it is even more of a no-brainer that the glass element is well represented at the NEC in April.
