Industry to the Rescue!
With the constant drip of bad news it is beginning to look
inevitable that we will start talking ourselves into a slump in the next
few months.
The glimmer of hope that is the commercial market - flag-waved in our letters page last week by Ed Whip of EAG - now looks tenuous, with the future of some of the largest projects in doubt after a profits wobble at New Star, the biggest backer in this sector
However, the good news is that the flagship project of the New Star stable - the London 'Shard' - is now to be built after all, after a Quatari consortium this morning stumped up the £2bn required.
