Solar
Control Glass Could Save the Planet!
Rick Wilberforce of Pilkington called this opportunity 'the low-hanging fruit' and encouraged policy makers to pluck it: 'We are all aware of the urgency of fighting climate change. Here is an opportunity to make a major contribution in the building sector.' Darby Glass: A Correction: The comments we made in the last issue of The Gl@zine in addition to the Darby Glass press release - which we ran verbatim - were not intended to misrepresent what the directors have achieved with Darby Glass. The leader comment was meant to be provocative and slightly tongue in cheek but we appreciate that the flippant tone was unnecessary and could be viewed as misleading. It was certainly not our intention to place any negative inference in what has been achieved at Darby Glass. We would also like to reiterate that at no point has Darby Group or Darby Glass been in administration. Another
classic from the 'Ministry of the Bleedin Obvious' this
week: The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) warns hospitals
that they have a duty to ensure the safety of patients
from falls from windows. Admittedly, the warning follows
HSE's prosecution of Stockport NHS Foundation Trust
after a patient was injured when he climbed out of a
window, so it's clearly not as obvious as I thought.
Might be worth a check call to your local hospital though,
to offer a 'free security and safety health check' on
their windows..
