Greener Homes 'MOT' Scheme!
The much hyped Green Homes 'MOT' Scheme was finally announced at the beginning of this week, but - surprise, surprise - there is yet again no specific mention of double glazing, although the old stalwarts loft insulation and cavity wall insulation are trotted out, as if there is a house standing in this country that doesn't already have both.

Veka Advert
To be fair, double glazing could well be considered to come under some of the more general aims, such as to 'Contact people buying and selling homes with poor energy ratings to connect them with grants, loans and financial packages to get the work done to improve the rating on their homes'.

Doors

Another aspect of the new scheme involves 'Transforming the Energy Saving Trust with more than £100 million in government funding to build the existing energy advice service to become a proactive Green Homes Service rolled out nationwide by 2011, based on a regional network of one stop shops'. 'One Stop Talking Shops', might be nearer the mark!
