Timber
Makes a Comeback
This week saw the official launch of the Wood Window Alliance, an industry marketing inititative from 34 timber window companies, which will be adminstered by the British Woodworking Federation (BWF). 'With sustainability high on the agenda, particularly in the social housing sector, the time is perfect for us to join forces in the battle for the market share', says WWA leading light Nick Quinn, marketing director of Blairs. Meanwhile, Palmer Market Research offers us the following information in its latest report on the Market for Windows, Doors and Conservatories in New Housing: 'Timber glazing products in New Housing shot up by 28% in installed value terms in 2006, while PVC-U could only manage 3%. Part of this was due to higher price rises but there were some substantial volume increases as well says Palmer. Next
week, the 24th of July, will be the last issue of The
Gl@zine before our annual summer break, which will
mean after that you will have one less email to worry
about while you are reclining on that sunlounger. We
are back on August 14th.
Finally don't forget PIGS this Thursday. Details here |
