There's Life in the Old Dog Yet!
Two major investment stories have surfaced this week, which seem to go some way in confirming that niche products or services and aggressive marketing are paying off in what some are describing as a static or declining market.


Veka Advert
Fabricator Tradelink has invested over £300,000 in new machinery at its Mildenhall plant to increase capacity at what used to be MPM Windows before the takeover. The company purchased top of the range equipment from manufacturers Stuga and Rotox.

Synseal Billboard

Kolorseal, meanwhile, has moved its manufacturing and colour coating operation from 3500 sq ft to a purpose built 12,500 sq ft factory in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire due to the increased demand for colour coated products. The new premises have helped Kolorseal increase capacity to over 400 frames being colour coated per week.

Glassex organiser EMAP Maclaren has responded quickly to criticism of this year's show, particularly its poor performance on Sunday, when only 1100 visitors turned up to the NEC. New midweek schedules have been announced for 2008, when Glassex will also once again be reunited with the glass industry as GP&T is staged alongside it.
