PART L ARCHIVE

Is Ken Bates the new Ted Moult?
Well, we've asked similar questions before, but this time, it's not us, it's the esteemed Times columnist Giles Smith, who read about the Leeds chairman's relationship with Safestyle on none other than: The Glazine! We give it to you first folks! More on this story below.

Veka Advert
We like to keep up with the times at The Glazine, and being totally internet based still makes us pretty cutting edge! We have also run movies since 2002, with product demonstrations from Avocet and Glasweld some of our early efforts, and this week we have sneak previews of both the Synseal TV ad and the Edgetech 'Save the Word DVD. I am already having nightmares about Nick Dutton and Andy Jones' Oscar acceptance speeches.

Synseal TV ad

Pilkington has pulled off a remarkable double: the purchase of AG and the sale of K'Mac in the same week. This is surely one of the cleverest bits of management we have ever seen from Pilkington, and bodes well for the independance of the UK glassmaker after the NSG takeover.

Ultraframe Advert

This week, the BFRC answers some key questions which it feels are being asked in the trade about the WER ratings: some companies think it's too easy to get an A rating, others think it's too difficult and/or too expensive. At least two companies that we know of are telling customers that their competitors have been downgraded since their original test, and that the BFRC website has not been updated. Read the full story under News, below.

PILKINGTON FANTASY FOOTBALL

United Extend Lead As Chelsea Triumph In The Snarling Cup

The reigning Premiership champions literally beat Arsenal's youth team although 11 minutes of injury time, three red cards, seven yellows, three goals, two managers on the pitch to sort out one almighty scuffle and one concussed England captain, doesn't really tell the whole story of this amazing final.
