A fascinating report put together by EPPA/PVCplus back in the Summer which sets out energy-saving scenarios achieved when poor quality inefficient windows are replaced was officially presented by author Marcus Hermes at the Plastic Profiles in Construction conference in Brussels on 29th November. Windows Hold the Key to Europe's Energy Efficiency Drive
A study 'Potential to save energy through the use of modern window systems in Europe' by engineer Marcus Hermes presented at the 'Plastic Profiles in Construction' conference in Brussels on 29th November showed that upgrading inefficient windows could save enough energy annually to provide heating and hot water for almost four million people. After five years of upgrades, this could reach an annual saving of 13 billion euro.
