Campaign Builds a Head of Steam
We hope more will follow soon, and we urge companies to use the template letter in last week's Gl@zine (which you can download here) and let us know you have done so, so we can publish your details in our rolling list of supporters. In last weeks Glazine it was suggested that the British Woodworking Federaration (BWF) supported the campaign. However we have been asked to make it clear that the BWF has not consulted its members on the issue and cannot endorse the campaign until it has. Only this week Sir Nicholas Stern published his authoritative report for the Government on climate change, warning that inaction could cause a worldwide recession. Climate change is the hot topic among the political parties and Chancellor Gordon Brown has now appointed Al Gore, former US vice-president and author of the headline grabbing book and film, An Inconvenient Truth, as an adviser on green issues. So what better time for the Government to add an incentive for homeowners to buy Energy Saving Recommended windows and reduce VAT on windows. Now is the time for the industry to act together on this. Your voice counts. |
