Ups than Downs?
From our first three news
stories this week, you would be forgiven for thinking that the window
industry is in the middle of a boom. The truth of course, is not quite
as rosy, but it is good to see that the sales volumes - if not double
digit profitability - are
still out there for companies who are getting it right, such as Network
Veka, Advantage and the Profine Group. Somewhat ominously,
meanwhile, the BPF has this week set up a new website aimed to
help facilitate the buying and selling of plasics companies...
A couple of reminders this week: time is running out to get tickets for Conservatory Outlet's Charity Ball, which is taking place at Huddersfield's Galpharm Stadium on Saturday September 30th. Tickets are £49 each and it's for a good cause. We also hear from another company who have been shortlisted for the G-06 Awards - AG Glass. If you haven't already bought tickets for this event, which is at the Birmingham Metropole on Friday 15th September, you may still be lucky enough to get a seat.
Now summer is effectively over for most of us, it is time - at least for the glass and glazing element of our readership - to turn its attention to the world's biggest and best exhibition for this market sector - glasstec, in Düsseldorf, which runs from 24th-28th October.
