It's a week of warnings and remi
nders. with a welcome piece of positive forecasting in the conservatory sector for good measure.

The latest report on the UK Conservatory sector from Rigby Research finds that in 2005 market penetration was still as low as 18%, suggesting that there is quite a bit of life in the old dog yet. More on this below.

A warning, meanwhile, that September 1st is the date when the new regulations governing toughened glass come into force. By this date, all manufacturers should have had their glass tested to EN 12600 Pendulum Impact test and EN 12150 and be operating a system of Factory Production Control. More on this below.

Finally, a reminder that tables are selling fast for the G06 Awards, being held in Birmingham on September 15th. The finalists have been announced, which you can see here. Pilkington has made the shortlist for two of the awards - Glass Company of the Year and Promotional Campaign of the Year, so one can expect a good turnout from St Helens on the night. Bohle, who has coincided its Glass Student Award with G06, has announced its 12 finalists, which we publish below.
