First 'A' Rating for DG in UK

The honour of achieving the UK's first BFRC 'A' Rating for a double glazed window goes to Tradelink Direct Ltd of March, Cambridgeshire. Double glazed with an Argon gas filling, this window used the Thermal Sleeve Solution from REHAU. The only other existing 'A' Rating so far is for a triple glazed window from Piper Double Glazing, using the Veka Matrix system and Argon gas filling. Perhaps unsurprisingly, both windows incorporate Edgetech's leading warm edge technology Super Spacer®. Veka Advert

Saint-Gobain has announced its 2005 results, and has clearly had its accountants working overtime in essentially producing two sets of figures: one with, and one without, the effects of purchasing the lossmaking BPB. Excluding BPB, sales were up 8.4% and profits were up 6.4%. BPB wiped some 54m Euros off the bottom line in the group's 2005 figures.
