Overwhelming Response to
Issue 1

Overwhelming, is the only way I can describe the response to the first issue of The Gl@zine. Your good wishes and constructive comments have been most welcome and have proved that the concept of an e-zine for the glass and fenestration industry is essential for being in touch with all the latest developments and trends, as well as driving business to e-commerce facilities. We have been inundated with new subscribers, editorial submissions and ideas for ways in which The Gl@zine can be put to even better use for the benefit of the industry's 'electronic community'.

One question that has been put to me many times in the last couple of weeks - probably because of my past involvement with the Glassex Awards - is whether the industry should try to resurrect some form of Awards. My own feeling is that we should, but that we should link it to a charity event and also make it easier for companies to take part. I look forward to hearing your suggestions aired through The Gl@zine, so please write in.

The Jobs and For Sale sections will in time become a major feature of this e-zine: we already have two used machinery specialists who see the potential of this form of instant communication: Barrie Irons and Sparks Direct. The Gl@zine promises these companies a quick way of turning machinery around.

Finally, thank you to all the companies that have chosen to support this new venture, with their respective contributions. I am sure that in the coming weeks, it will prove to be a sensible and profitable decision.

Again, if you feel that your colleagues would benefit from receiving THE GL@ZINE, please forward it to them and ask them to sign up FREE OF CHARGE at the Subscribe link at the bottom.

Don't forget, it's YOUR newsletter. Please send any articles, news items etc to: copy@theglazine.com
