Publication of the long awaited BS EN 1279 Standard is now complete. BS EN 1279 is written in six parts and the recent publication of Part 5 means that all six parts of the Standard are now available and the 21 month transition and implementation phase has officially begun.

Deceuninck Considers its Options
Only a week after we asked how much of the PVC-U window industry wasn't up for sale, we receive confirmation that the Deceuninck family has been talking to a number of investors since last year, but has decided not to make a move at this moment. The family stressed that discussions about increasing capital, forming partnerships or making acquisitions were being held on a regular basis, in the long term interests of the company and its stakeholders.

This week we hear the sad news that Peter Watling - who retired as sales director of
Wagner GB through ill health - has passed away. Our sympathies to his wife Maureen and the couple's children.

We also publish this week a full report of the recent GPD Conference in Finland, which has surely become the most influential event in the international glass calendar. That's here.

And finally, it's good to see that winning companies in the G05 Awards are rightfully proud of their achievements: Listers, winners of the
