Held alongside two other events that relate to the commercial glazing and fire protection industries Fensterbau boasts some 700 exhibitors taking up 40,000sqm of exhibition space, and attracting in the region of 45,000 visitors. Final figures were not available at the time of going to press.

Internet News

Conservatory and window suppliers are missing out on sales worth many thousands of pounds by ignoring potential customers on islands around Britain, the Scottish Highlands and parts of the Republic of Ireland, says eBuilders.

The OFT is warning internet users purchasing or registering website addresses ('domain names') to make sure they know exactly what they are paying for.

‘E-commerce is more than just about connecting to the internet. It is about transforming businesses and adopting new ways of working,’ Douglas Alexander, E- commerce Minister told key representatives from the minerals and construction products industry.

While the British presence was hardly noticeable, it still provides the British visitor with the opportunity to view acres of interesting variations on a theme, be it machinery or profile, and this year a fair amount of glass technology. Click here to view some shots of Fensterbau.

Looking forward we still have Interbuild in this country to prepare for, as well as Glasstec in Düsseldorf. In the Gl@zine we will be starting the build-up to Interbuild over the coming weeks, with unrivalled coverage of what the show has to offer the glass and glazing industry.
