Deceuninck Merges UK Subsidiaries: Delph Plant to Close
Group Deceuninck, a worldwide manufacturer of PVC window systems and profiles, will restructure its activities in the United Kingdom. The management of Deceuninck UK Ltd and Status Systems Ltd in the UK have announced their intentions to integrate the two businesses into one trading company, to be known as Deceuninck Status.

Peter Abbott Quits VEKA, but VEKA to Stay in UK
Last week Peter Abbott sent out a letter announcing his resignation from VEKA plc. This was not a surprise within VEKA, as he announced his intention to the main board in February 2004. He is simply moving on to new pastures after committing the last 20 years of his life to VEKA, and taking VEKA plc to the level it stands at today.

PPG Receives Adverse Ruling in Marvin Case
On March 23rd the United States’ Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against PPG Industries in a breach-of-warranty case brought against it by Marvin Windows and Doors. PPG, which is evaluating its options for further appeals, estimates the total judgment, including interest, is between $145 and $150 million pretax, which the company plans to reserve in first quarter 2005.
