Travelodge in the shade
Sapa Building Systems provided shading to a full-height atrium at a new Travelodge at Borehamwood in Hertfordshire.
Design drawings showed that solar gain from the full-height entrance facade could be an issue for guests arriving in the late afternoon and checking out in the morning.
Sapa’s technical support team met with the project design team and designed an optimal layout for Elegance SC which ensured that the shading worked most effectively at these key times.
In addition to the solar shading and curtain walling, Dualframe Casement windows and Stormframe ST thermally broken entrance doors were also fitted. Sapa specialist contractor Allglass (Anglia) carried out site installation, with Wynda Components fabricating.
