Edgetech back at university

Edgetech will bring back its popular stand theme Edgetech University (ETU) for a second term at GlassBuild America 2009, September 30-October 2 in Atlanta.

ETU will focus on educating customers about upcoming green legislation, changes to the US equivalent to the Energy Saving Trust’s Energy Saving Recommended scheme, ENERGY STAR, IG certification and best practices for meeting the Stimulus Bill’s .30/.30 requirements.

Edgetech will also sponsor the GlassBuild America Energy Efficiency Seminar on October 1 at 10.30. This panel-style discussion will bring together industry experts to examine trends affecting the industry, including existing rules, changes and future growth opportunities.

Edgetech University’s classroom-style stand will include experts such as Marg Webb, executive director for the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance (IGMA), who will address the topic of IG Certification; Michael Thoman, director of thermal testing and simulation from Architectural Testing (ATI) and the National Fenestration Ratings Council (NFRC); and Rich Walker, president and CEO of the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA).

“With so much happening in the industry right now, it’s all about being educated and seizing opportunities whenever possible,” said Erin Johnson, director of marketing for Edgetech IG. “Over the past few years, we have focused heavily on educating the industry about energy efficiency and sustainability with numerous learning opportunities, including the well-attended ‘Energy Efficiency in Focus’ seminar in the UK. ETU and the Energy Efficiency Seminar will further these efforts, featuring several third-party industry experts who will answer questions and help attendees stay on the leading edge.”
