Consumers Choose Super Spacer

Undertaking a sensitive renovation project, homeowners Mr and Mrs Roper recently asked Carey and Fox to install timber sash windows with Super Spacer’s built in energy saving.

'We were thrilled when we found windows with Super Spacer inside because we had been frustrated by a few bad experiences with spacer bars specifically,' says Claire Roper.

'As soon as we saw Super Spacer we thought it looked neat in the timber frame.

It doesn’t draw attention to itself, which is what you want from a spacer. We had seen white spacers with the brand name stamped all over and spacers with two lines of holes running along them – none of which we felt were suitable for our sensitive renovation project. Plus Super Spacer had the added benefits of better insulation and particularly important for me because I suffer with asthma, it reduces condensation.'

'Because Super Spacer is a component part of the window, it can be difficult to see how it can be used when selling in the home,' adds Andy Jones, Managing Director of Edgetech. 'And admittedly homeowners probably won’t ask if a window’s sightlines are good, or if a spacer can reduce condensation or energy loss, because they aren’t aware of the possibilities. But here’s the proof. Just as Carey and Fox did, I urge installers to bring the apparently hidden benefits of high performance spacers to the forefront when selling.'
