‘The slider market has increased 33% over the last three years against a decline of 15% in the first time replacement casement window market,’ says Steve Cross, Joint Director of Mercury, which makes 200 Spectus sashes a week. ‘It's a major opportunity for installers and fabricators but you need to have the right product and strong support throughout the supply chain. Many of our customers are fabricators who buy-in - manufacturing sliders is a big investment and very different to making casements.
