Total Aluminium Strikes 'Gold'

Half a century of aluminium fabrication experience has arrived at Total Aluminium with the key appointments of Keith Giddings as Production Manager and Peter Bassford as Office and Estimating Manager.

The 'golden' duo, with 50 years industry service between them, joins Marcus Wilson who is responsible for sales of the extensive aluminium portfolio. This range includes windows, doors, curtain walling, facades and shop fronts, to suit all applications across the housing and commercial building sectors.

Peter and Keith are responsible for all aspects of the company's fabrication of high-performance aluminium glazing products using profiles from two of the market-leading aluminium systems suppliers - Kawneer and Sapa. Total Aluminium is part of the Total Glass Group, complementing existing PVC-U window and door fabrication at the 100,000 sq ft Knowsley complex.

With more than 30 years industry experience in fabrication and supervisory roles, Peter is responsible for estimates, quotes and order processing. Commenting on his appointment, Peter says: ‘Aluminium has a great future and it's exciting to be in at the start with such a dynamic and well-established Group that has clear goals for sustained growth and success.’

Bringing more than 20 years production experience with major aluminium fabricators to his new role, Keith takes care of all factory production, from ordering raw materials to overseeing the finished goods and liaison with installation projects.

He is also looking forward to the challenge of growing the business, saying: ‘The aluminium market offers tremendous opportunities, particularly for commercial projects. With a number of orders already in the pipeline, we've made a great start and I'm looking forward to helping build on this.’

Keith recently retired after eight years as a Special Constable, latterly as Inspector, and now enjoys microlighting in his spare time. Flyball, a competitive dog sport, is Peter's passion and along with wife Sylvia, daughters Alison and Lisa, he attends events all over the country. Not forgetting the three border collies and a poodle, of course!
