Duralite can Save 60% Labour for IG Unit Managers

IG unit makers who want to save labour have been given the green light by Tremco illbruck that has revealed that manufacturers can save up to 60% of manpower requirement, while achieving the same output.

Thanks to a three step production process for its Duralite system - other IG sealants require anything up to a nine stage production process - making sealed units with Duralite is quick and easy.

Part of the secret is that Duralite has a single spacer and sealant component while other IG sealant systems can have three or more. With Duralite, cycle time per IG unit can be as little as 23 seconds compared to 36 seconds or more for many other systems.

‘This is outstanding technology,’ said Glen Horrocks of Tremco illbruck. ‘These verifiable manpower, output and completion time figures are based on collaborative work with UK IG producers.

‘If you use the Duralite spacer system output is faster and less complex and with no curing time necessary, IG units are ready for immediate shipping.’

Duralite is an all-in-one spacer system designed for high volume production of IG units in a process where units are sealed using heat and compression. Designed as a single seal system, Duralite can also be used with a secondary sealant to create a dual seal unit.
