A New Company has a New Approach

Dekko Window Systems Ltd is the brainchild of Gary Torr and Kurt Greatrex. Together with fellow management team members Lorraine Wood and Tony Carolan they have around 70 years' experience in the window industry. They say that in setting up their new company, they've thrown many of the accepted wisdoms away and promised that Dekko will be a breath of fresh air for the industry.

That's because before making any significant decision about the company and how it operates, they asked their potential customers what they really needed from their manufacturer. As Kurt says, ‘Too many manufacturers tell their customers what they can have. Instead, we intend to ask our customers what they need. It's a big difference and we're confident our approach is the one the industry needs.’

So what are Dekko's potential customers looking for? Let's start with window system. Dekko will be fabricating Deceuninck's 2800 and 2500 systems. The company says that the sculptured looks of the 2800 are unique in the market and the system offers distinctive windows that are popular with retail customers. The 2500 offers an alternative chamfered system but because it's from the same range, it shares the same profile platform and grey gasket, bringing consistency and continuity to Dekko's portfolio.

The choice of Deceuninck as Dekko's fabrication partner was made because the company has an excellent reputation for quality in all areas. Not only that, Deceuninck's customer-oriented, ‘can-do’ attitude makes a good match for Gary and Kurt's approach.

As you'd expect from a company that's placing so much emphasis on customers' needs, Dekko will have a ‘go-the-extra-mile’ attitude to customer service. This extends to sales support too. Potential customers requested high quality marketing materials for the window systems and Dekko will be producing bespoke retail brochures and showroom support packs in response to this.

This focus on the customer's needs won't stop there when the company launches in February either. Gary explains: ‘We'll be holding regular workshops throughout the year with our customers so we continue to understand their ongoing requirements. That way, we can be sure we are always offering a service that helps every business perform as well as it can.

‘By the looks of things Dekko will be an exciting addition to the industry - and one that looks to be setting the bar for customer service as high as it's ever been!’

Dekko Window Systems Ltd is launching in the first week of February 2008. The company will be based in Bredbury, in its 28,000 square feet factory and office complex. The company's location, just off the M60, means it has excellent transport links and can offer a nationwide delivery service.
