PVC Sustainability Expert Roger Mottram to Present PVC Aware Launch

Roger Mottram, widely recognised for his knowledge regarding the sustainable development of PVC products, will offer his views on the key sustainability challenges and opportunities of relevance to the PVC window industry to delegates attending the launch of PVCAware.org next week.

Group Environmental Affairs Manager for INEOS ChlorVinyls (Europe's largest PVC manufacturer), Roger is consulted by a wide number of official organisations and committees. He is an expert on the Vinyl 2010 initiative and is expected to offer delegates at the PVCAware.org event advice on the tangible business and marketing benefits of adopting best practice in recycling and other environmentally efficient practices by the PVC window industry.

PVCAware.org, an initiative designed to offer an industry-wide resource to provide information on the sustainability of PVC as a window framing material and to encourage the widespread recycling of post-consumer waste, is being launched to a select audience on the 10th June. Initially sponsored by the Epwin Group and VEKA plc, the decision to embark upon the project was taken following the Ecobuild exhibition which took place in London recently. The organisers report that in addition to the original guest list including the press, UK systems producers, selected fabricators and installers and recyclers, a large number of requests to attend have been received.

In as statement joint sponsors Jim Rawson of Epwin and Veka's Dave Jones commented: 'Our instincts that such an initiative would be welcomed by the industry have been fully justified already. It is crucial that we communicate and promote the very real benefits of PVC as a framing material to professional specifiers and homeowners and indeed, to the window industry itself. We are delighted to have received such a response, even before we have launched.'
