Contemporary
Thinking At K2
K2
has seen a marked increase in the number of companies opting for no crestings
on the roof and utilising bi-folding doors as a move to a more contemporary
design for the conservatory. But does it remain a conservatory or become
extended living space?
Traditional design is all well suited for period homes but for the modern
properties, traditional design may often clash with that of the house
itself. One of the most identifiable features of any conservatory is the
cresting and finial, and several companies are already opting for the
K2 aluminium roof with a ball finial only, with an infill strip for the
cresting channel making for a perfectly finished appearance.
Companies are now also starting to look at the opportunities for bi-folding
doors in conservatories, combined with alternative roof designs. Conservatory
fabricator TNCC have already taken this step and have started to promote
these doors as part of an overall conservatory package. The product takes
the form of K2 aluminium roof without crestings, Celsius performance glass,
TNCC's own bi-folding doors and K2 portal goal posts for additional support
at the opening. These elements combine to make for a very different and
yet contemporary conservatory.
Charles Fox, sales director of K2 Conservatory Systems comments: 'We are
now looking at a far more modern conservatory which is taking design to
the next level. The industry has been built on traditional and period
design but we are starting to see some more contemporary designs emerge,
which is great for the industry and consumer too.'
For those installers looking to offer something a little different then
the contemporary conservatory may be the perfect solution to tempt the
consumer who doesn't want a traditional conservatory. For those on a sales
pitch it may just help you stand out from the crowd.
