Portal Welcomes a New Face to its Operation

Specialist door manufacturer Portal Products has welcomed a new operations manager to the team to address changing customer needs.

Kelvin Roberts has joined the company, bringing with him 30 years experience in operations, with many of these in the chemical industry.

Kelvin said: ‘I have gained significant experience in operations and am pleased to be able to use these skills in a challenging and exciting environment.

‘Portal Products is at the forefront of the PVC-U and composite door market and thanks to support from the team, I am developing a good understanding of the marketplace and our customers' needs.’

Kelvin, whose main priority will be to establish good working relationships with not only Portal customers but the team in-house, is enjoying the challenges that the role is bringing and being a 'people-person'really helps.

He said: ‘The most important element of an operations role is communication and this is the part of the job that I particularly enjoy. I am responsible for overseeing the company's processes to make sure that things are running smoothly and that, most importantly, customers are happy with the service we provide.

‘Although the majority of my time is spent in the office, I am also involved in customer visits as it's important for our customers to be able to put a name to a face and provide a more personal service.’
