Vista Achieves Health and Safety and Green Accreditations

Vista Group Plc, the composite and door panel manufacturer, has successfully achieved two important accreditations from the British Standards Institute (BSI). They are: ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management System) and OHSAS 18001:1999 (Health and Safety Management System).

ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that sets out how to implement an effective Environmental Management System (EMS). The standard is designed to address the delicate balance between maintaining profitability and reducing environmental impact.

Achieving ISO 14001 means that Vista has successfully identified the aspects of its business that impact on the environment and understands those environmental laws that are relevant to its situation. As a result it has produced a set of objectives for improvement and a management programme to achieve them. There are also regular reviews for continual improvement.

The Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) specification (OHSAS 18001:1999) is a management system designed to eliminate or minimise the risk to employees and other interested parties who may be exposed to OH&S risks associated with its activities. It is a clear commitment on behalf of Vista to control its OH&S risks and improve its performance.

Keith Sadler, Vista Group's Managing Director commented: ‘These two accreditations demonstrate our commitment to upholding the highest standards. We take our responsibilities towards the environment and the health and safety of our employees very seriously and our customers know that the same high standards apply throughout the business.’
