Response
Dear Richard
I'd like to thank Tony Crutcher for confirming in his letter to the Gl@zine
(22.1.2008) that Celuform still uses a tin stabiliser in its roofline
products and does not have its own blending facilities - obviously bad
things in Tony's eyes.
From Tony's silence I also take it that Kestrel-BCE still extrudes and
sells lead-based hollow soffits, despite his current 'no lead, no tin'
campaign.
Tony quotes Dr Jason Leadbitter or does he mis-quote? Under the Vinyl
2010 initiative lead must be phased out 100% by 2015. Vinyl 2010 says
nothing about tin as his Technical Director Dr Cockett will no doubt confirm.
Freefoam stopped using lead-based stabilisers and was Vinyl 2010 compliant
before the initiative was introduced in 2000.
If there are any Celuform customers who feel uncomfortable with Tony's
'some lead, some tin' campaign give me a call.
Yours sincerely
Tony Walsh
