Metal
Technology takes on Heavy Duty Hinge
One
of the leading architectural aluminium systems companies had added Cotswold's
'one type fits all' Heavy-Duty hinges to its range. Metal Technology
in Antrim, Northern Ireland, specialises in the design of architectural
glazing solutions for window, door and curtain walling construction
and has supplied high performance systems for many prestigious commercial
projects in the UK and Ireland.
Cotswold's Heavy Duty collection offers a friction stay for large top-hung
or side-hung windows up to 2.0m high and 120kg in weight. Its design
means reduced stockholding for fabricators and distributors as all hinges
have an adjustable friction mechanism for optimum flexibility. The HD22-R,
for example, opens to 20, 45 or 90 degrees, so a wide range of window
styles, sizes and ventilation options can be with just one hinge type.
Fabricators in Metal Technology's network can choose from Cotswold's
complete range of HD friction stays, including the HD-R, available in
sizes of 10, 16 and 22 inches and the larger HD28 and HD26-180 self-balancing
stays, which eliminate the need for supporting arms and have a fixed
opening angle of 15 and 20 degrees respectively.
The HD range offered by Cotswold also includes the HD102 Friction Arm,
which is totally concealed on side-hung windows when the vent is closed
and offers no internal obstruction when opened. It can also be fitted
below the existing friction stay on large top-hung windows to provide
extra support by limiting the opening and adding greater stability to
the window.
