Glaston
Puts Strong Focus on Solar Energy
Glaston Corporation, the global specialist in
glass processing machines and the only supplier of comprehensive One-Stop-Partner
integrated line solutions puts, in line with its new strategy, strong
focus on the growing solar energy market. Glaston has the product range,
know-how, experience and global presence to meet the needs of the solar
energy segment and its customers.
Demand for solar energy is increasing not only by growing environmental
awareness but also by various emissions restrictions, such as the Kyoto
protocol.
Demand for glass processing machines serving solar energy suppliers is
growing significantly. In order to meet the solar energy industry's emerging
demand for bent and flat top quality glass Glaston establishes as part
of its One-Stop-Partner Business Concept a separate Solar Energy business.
'We believe in the rapid growth of the solar energy market. During the
last few years demand for solar energy has rapidly increased and Glaston
has already a strong and growing order book in solar applications. In
solar we are dealing with new solutions, in which the level of customer-tailoring
is very high. We want to give the best service to our solar customers
and develop our line solutions according to industry trends', says Mika
Seitovirta, President and CEO of Glaston Corporation.
The Solar Energy business is headed by Claus Carlsen, former Managing
Director at Tamglass Glass Processing.
The offering
Glaston's well known brands Tamglass, Bavelloni, Uniglass and Albat+Wirsam
are known in the industry all over the world, and to the customers these
brands represent quality and reliability.
'We have close to 40 years experience in developing first class glass
automation processing technologies and machinery, both in bent glass and
flat glass, and can serve the solar customers with technologies for both
photovoltaic (PV), Solar Thermal (ST) and concentrated solar power (CSP)
solutions', states Claus Carlsen, VP Solar Energy.
The players in the solar energy segment operate in a market where the
quality and technical requirements of glass is on the highest level. But
these demanding end products must at the same time be manufactured more
cost-effectively than before.
'We provide our customers with high productivity solar manufacturing solutions
accompanied with comprehensive maintenance and service network close to
our customers. The customers that are investing in the solar business
typically need complete integrated factory solutions. Therefore they are
looking for a reliable partner with financial and organisational strength
that can handle large projects anywhere in the world', says Claus Carlsen.
Glaston's One-Stop-Partner concept, launched in 2003, ensures that the
customer's receives the best possible products and related services from
one supplier.
Glaston's One-Stop-Partner deliveries range from medium-sized to large
partial lines all the way to complete factory deliveries. The orders received
in 2007 includes pre-prosessing, heat treatment and maintenance services
configurations.
